"Full tank" She said as she beckoned on the attendant. In about less than a minute, she was done. As she started the Van, the attendant handed her change to her but she declined "No, don't worry, keep the change, Okay!?" She said confidently and continued driving. At least, that was very generous of her and it spoke volumes of her kind of person. I could almost see the beginning of town and that meant one thing, we were close to our destination. Just as I began to adjust myself with a sigh of relief, then she asked the most unassuming question.

The Wailing Creatures  W ritten by Sumayyah Oluwafunbi Ogunsola     With a big smile on and shiny gleaming teeth plastered on my sweaty face, I step inside the dusty building with the big bold inscription: ‘ WELCOME TO THE ZOO!’  As I walk around with my black heels making a pit-pat, click-clack sound, my eager brown irises get locked in a trance with the brownish red Hawaiian bird.       That’s NOT my Father!       Sumayyah Oluwafunbi  Ogunsola              It’s a bleak, dark late evening accompanied by torrent of rain and the howling of the wind; the power is out. My father and I sit down in the parlour, looking at each other and sighing in disappointment, as our fun day out was ruined. I glance at our pet cat, Tata, to see that she is fast asleep.               Exasperated, my father launches himself on the sofa and says to me, “I am going to get Starbucks. Wait for me.” Worried, I respond “In the rain, and at this time, dad? You have heard how dangerous people lurk in the cloak of darkness...” He cuts me off.
