Dele looked as surprised as Abigail. "Well seems like we keep bumping into each other." Dele exclaimed. Abigail gasped. "You can say that again." She replied. Abigail's Mother glanced at both of them and became curious. "Wait o! Una know each other?" She questioned. "Yes Mami, we've met." Abigail replied. "Ah! Na the Doctor wey talk say if we no quick bring the money for your Papa treatment, say dem go increase am." Abigail's Mother lamented. Abigail stared at Dele like she had expected him to respond. He cleared his throat in contempt. "em..Madam. It is not my fault. There are teams of medical Doctors involved as well." Dele explained. Abigail became nervous. "em...all I'm asking is only few days and a little time. I will fetch the money." Abigail pleaded. Dele was helpless at this point. "Okay, can we discuss in my office?" Dele asked. "Okay, that's fine by us.' Abigail responded and they all left for the Doctor's office.
As they entered the Doctor's office, he beckoned on them to take a seat. "So Doctor, una no fit wait for us to bring the money?" Abigail's mother asked anxiously. The Doctor looked at her and moved closer to her. "Madam, your husband's situation is very critical as a matter of fact, but for the drugs administered to him the last time he was here, it would have been a different story." Dele responded. "Okay..so, how much time do we have?" Abigail asked. Dele dropped his head Like he was praying and almost immediately raised it up. "I'm afraid you have just two days left." He replied. "My pikin o! You dey hear!?" Abigail's Mother lamented as she placed both hands on her head.

The Wailing Creatures  W ritten by Sumayyah Oluwafunbi Ogunsola     With a big smile on and shiny gleaming teeth plastered on my sweaty face, I step inside the dusty building with the big bold inscription: ‘ WELCOME TO THE ZOO!’  As I walk around with my black heels making a pit-pat, click-clack sound, my eager brown irises get locked in a trance with the brownish red Hawaiian bird.       That’s NOT my Father!       Sumayyah Oluwafunbi  Ogunsola              It’s a bleak, dark late evening accompanied by torrent of rain and the howling of the wind; the power is out. My father and I sit down in the parlour, looking at each other and sighing in disappointment, as our fun day out was ruined. I glance at our pet cat, Tata, to see that she is fast asleep.               Exasperated, my father launches himself on the sofa and says to me, “I am going to get Starbucks. Wait for me.” Worried, I respond “In the rain, and at this time, dad? You have heard how dangerous people lurk in the cloak of darkness...” He cuts me off.
