Abigail returned to her apartment where Chief had been waiting. She sat next to him.
"Abigail baby! So you said you wanted to see me, any better?" Chief said as he smiled cheerfully.
Abigail managed to reciprocate with a smile.
"em.. actually Chief, let me get you something first." Abigail said as she hesitated.
" Ah! Okay o! Let me have egusi and pounded yam." Chief requested.
"Okay Chief, I'll be right back."Abigail said.
In less than an hour, Abigail was done cooking.
She brought the food and placed before Chief.
"Here's your food, Chief." Abigail said. Chief smiled.
"Hmmm... Abigail baby! That is why I will not leave you oh! Just look how the food is transporting my nose!" Chief continued talking as he watched his hands. He began to eat.
"Hmmm..This food is delicious o!...eh..hen! So, tell me what is the matter?" Chief said.
Abigail leaned forward and sat up.
"Chief, my father is ill, he has pile and I need money urgently." Abigail lamented.
Chief paused for a while.
"Really? ...so how much are we talking about?" He asked.
Abigail hesitated again.
'Hmmm...Nothing less than four hundred thousand naira." She replied. Immediately Chief bursted out in laughter.
Abigail sat still and stared at him curiously.
"Chief, why are you laughing? It's a serious issue for me." She said.
