Last December was such a memorable one!😃
Ah! You ought to have seen how excited I was, understably so because I am such a helpless romantic!😃 So when I learnt that my favourite uncle was about to propose to his long time girlfriend of over five years, Tiwade, and he wanted me to organise a surprise proposal party, I was so ecstatic.💃💃💃 He had planned to return to the country without her knowledge, for a surprise proposal.
I had one million, and one ideas in my head. Trust me nau! I got to work immediately. One of the first steps I took, was to find out more about her favourite place, that is where she loves to visit more often. Then the rest was quite easy. It took me just a week to gather my information, and every plan was executed to the last letter. So on the D day we were all set to spring up the surprise as I had already received information that she would visit her favourite spot, on that day. I could literally percieve the excitement in the air, everyone who was invited to be part of the proposal party had been informed about the venue, where it would take place, and the time of the event. While we all waited for my uncle's girlfriend, Tiwade to arrive at the venue, I received a phone call from Shedrack, my informant.
"Tope, looks like plans have changed ooo!" He exclaimed.
"Ah Han! What happened?" I reacted.
"I just got a hint that she changed her mind ooo!" Shedrack lamented.
"Changed her mind bawo? Ah! She can't change her mind o! Not now, abeg! Anything you can do to stop this potentially EMBARRASSING situation, just do it!" I pleaded.
"How, nau?" Shedrack exclaimed.
"Just try your best, abeg! She has no idea that my uncle is in town, and we don't want to give that away, at least not yet!" I emphasized.
"Okay, I know what to do..." Shedrack said, and ended the call.
At that moment, all the nerves in my system began to tremble. I couldn't even imagine embarrassing myself before the number of people that were seated, waiting in anticipation for the surprise proposal, whilst my uncle who was in the private lodge, was almost running out of patience.
One minute, ten minutes, one hour, and there was no feedback from Shedrack. I remember pacing about the hall like a yo-yo, and head pounded so fast. I thought, this was it! I was just about to go down in history as the worse organiser of the century! Suddenly, my phone rang! I almost passed out as I nervously recieved the call, then I realised it was Shedrack!
"Hello! Hello! Shedrack, how far nau? Any show?" I asked in anticipation of a good news.
"Yes o! We finally convinced her to be there ooo! Oya! Make una prepare oo, she is close by!" Shedrack said, as I could feel the excitement in his voice.
"Yes! Yes!" I screamed, and immediately my uncle was informed.
Quickly, all the paparazzi was set, from the Champaign, the window blind where my uncle hid himself to the crowd that was ready to let out a surprise cheer 🙂
Hmmm..by the time Tiwade arrived, she couldn't hold back the tears while my uncle went down on one knee to propose! Awww Don't you just love, LOVE! At last, my Uncle, Bode got engaged to Tiwade, indeed history was made. And do you know the sweetest part for me? My C.V don get level o!
