               BEAUTY FOR ASHES!
It was weekend and a Lazy one for Sandra.   She was all curled up on her bed, trying to recuperate from the injury on her toe. She had also been reflecting on how best she could execute her plan to track Onome's uncle. Sandra was more than convinced that he would have one or two things to say about the pending situation.
"Sandra! Sandra!" Her mother called out. Slowly and carefully, Sandra stepped down from her bed and headed for the Kitchen.
She met her mum, who by now, was dishing out some source and yam for breakfast.
"I'm sure, you will feel better by the time you finish this meal." Her mother said as she grinned from ear to ear. 
"Thank you mum." Said Sandra as she took her food and headed for her room.  It was quite a peppery source and Sandra kept gulping water uncontrollably. Her mother had taken to the custom of preparing such delicacy as a curative for any form of discomfort. 
Sandra took the last spoon of 'hot sauce and heaved a sigh of relief.
Laying back on a wooden chair, Sandra drew a small bag closer and brought out a small sheet. There, was written an address, the address of Onome's uncle.

      That’s NOT my Father!       Sumayyah Oluwafunbi  Ogunsola              It’s a bleak, dark late evening accompanied by torrent of rain and the howling of the wind; the power is out. My father and I sit down in the parlour, looking at each other and sighing in disappointment, as our fun day out was ruined. I glance at our pet cat, Tata, to see that she is fast asleep.               Exasperated, my father launches himself on the sofa and says to me, “I am going to get Starbucks. Wait for me.” Worried, I respond “In the rain, and at this time, dad? You have heard how dangerous people lurk in the cloak of darkness...” He cuts me off.
