"You can take your food, I know by now you must be hungry." Mr Desmond said. Onome smiled as she nodded her head frantically.😐 She moved swiftly to the dining and settled down to her meal. It was an absolute feast as far as Onome was concerned. Every bit of the meal was tasty. "Uncle, thank you sir." Onome greeted once she was done. "Hmmm..I can see you enjoyed your meal." Her uncle said as he observed the cleared plates and virtually empty jar of juice. "Yes sir." Onome replied, giving away a smile. At this point Onome could not wait to hear what News her uncle had about her dad.

The Wailing Creatures  W ritten by Sumayyah Oluwafunbi Ogunsola     With a big smile on and shiny gleaming teeth plastered on my sweaty face, I step inside the dusty building with the big bold inscription: ‘ WELCOME TO THE ZOO!’  As I walk around with my black heels making a pit-pat, click-clack sound, my eager brown irises get locked in a trance with the brownish red Hawaiian bird.       That’s NOT my Father!       Sumayyah Oluwafunbi  Ogunsola              It’s a bleak, dark late evening accompanied by torrent of rain and the howling of the wind; the power is out. My father and I sit down in the parlour, looking at each other and sighing in disappointment, as our fun day out was ruined. I glance at our pet cat, Tata, to see that she is fast asleep.               Exasperated, my father launches himself on the sofa and says to me, “I am going to get Starbucks. Wait for me.” Worried, I respond “In the rain, and at this time, dad? You have heard how dangerous people lurk in the cloak of darkness...” He cuts me off.
