"Onome! Are you serious?" Adesuwa exclaimed. "How?" Ochuko asked further. "I can't even explain myself ." Onome responded. " So, what will happen now?" Deborah asked. "My uncle has promised to assist us search for him with the help of his team." Onome replied confidently. It was a sobber moment and Onome could feel the eyes of her friends starring pitifully at her. She knew she had to hurry before sunset thus she bade her friends goodbye. "Onome, are you sure you don't want us to accompany you?" Adesuwa beckoned but Onome declined. Onome walked on and soon, she had disappeared out of their sight.

The Wailing Creatures  W ritten by Sumayyah Oluwafunbi Ogunsola     With a big smile on and shiny gleaming teeth plastered on my sweaty face, I step inside the dusty building with the big bold inscription: ‘ WELCOME TO THE ZOO!’  As I walk around with my black heels making a pit-pat, click-clack sound, my eager brown irises get locked in a trance with the brownish red Hawaiian bird.       That’s NOT my Father!       Sumayyah Oluwafunbi  Ogunsola              It’s a bleak, dark late evening accompanied by torrent of rain and the howling of the wind; the power is out. My father and I sit down in the parlour, looking at each other and sighing in disappointment, as our fun day out was ruined. I glance at our pet cat, Tata, to see that she is fast asleep.               Exasperated, my father launches himself on the sofa and says to me, “I am going to get Starbucks. Wait for me.” Worried, I respond “In the rain, and at this time, dad? You have heard how dangerous people lurk in the cloak of darkness...” He cuts me off.
