Jimoh Oluwayomi Susan: Thanks for having me on board, sister.
Jimoh Oluwayomi Susan

E PLUS The Storyteller: Awesome.
First question I would like to ask you, and I'm quite sure, so many viewers would want to know- how is the health sector coping with the challenges we are faced with now? And as a nurse, what's been your personal experience?

Jimoh Oluwayomi Susan: Well, so far, so good, the health workers and the government have been trying to keep tabs on the so called virus, ๐Ÿฆ  and a lot of testing is going on. It's Just unfortunate that we have lost some of our officers ๐Ÿ‘ฎ‍♀️ in this battle. The scientists are still on  the  search for the vaccine/cure for it. Also making sure we all use our masks, wash our hands from time to time/sanitising them. So many centres have been put in place, including good facilities, but we still don't have many cases on board except for the YABA’s quarter. Most of the death are due to careless and other health issues excluding the covid19. I Work in a private hospital and we’re yet to see or get such case anyway ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝ‍♀️! During the lockdown, few people/the emergency ones visited the hospital; while some felt dey should not, for the fear of catching  the virus ๐Ÿฆ  there๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝ‍♀️๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†. *
Personally, I have seen two cases not at work, but from family friends. They both called me on different days, and talked about the symptoms. I only advised that they go for the testing, and both came back positive. They went for isolation at YABA and came back clean after 16days.
We have been taking precautions also in the hospital (private) and refer anyone that’s showing such symptoms without allowing them in. In other not to infect the environment or the clients we have on board. We, as humans are one difficult beings to control. Most of us don't follow the instructions of wearing mask ๐Ÿ˜ท, washing of hands, and staying safe protocols. We still feel, and believe that it does not effect a black man ๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿฝ. That’s another big challenge the health factors are facing.

These viruses come as flu ๐Ÿคง most especially, and all we need is to isolate ourselves and be treated with what we have now.
Take for example, me as an individual can't sneeze just anywhere, even before the  covid19 Pandemic because I will surely catch it and get infected until I treat malaria and the rest๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝ‍♀️!*

So, it’s still oky if we can just keep practicing the Safe Distance with or without the virus, to avoid stories that touch!
I jus pray that God mercies speak for us and heal our Land.๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ*

E PLUS The Storyteller: Hmmm... Awesome๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ...Thanks for the insight. And we say well done for the selflessness.
Jimoh Oluwayomi Susan: I really appreciate yourr invitation. And kudos ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพto the great job๐Ÿ˜˜

E PLUS The Storyteller: Now, there seem to be another virus that we need to tackle, it's become a menace, and that's RAPE. What's your view, as a woman, and from the medical angle?

Jimoh Oluwayomi Susan: Hmmm! That’s one of our nightmares in dis country/world, now๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿฝ‍♀️๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿฝ‍♀️
Personally, I tink it have to do with the devilish spirit roaming around the world. Because, if not, a father or mother would never be sleep/ with /abuse thier children.
Dressing or exposure has nothing to do with it. For a grown up man to defile few months/years children is not just an act, but a possessed spirit is involved!
Previously, we use to tink it happens because of the victims mode of dressing, rituals or just to teach her a lesson! But now, those toddlers don't have any puberty features, or do they look attractive? And this happens to both boys and girls. Who don't even have the slightest idea of what penis and vagina is, how much more sex.
Another thing I can say has to do wit the exposure on the internet! Anyone can  pick up a phone that has data and browse  into pornographic sites,  without being noticed. They get exposed and aroused by all kinds of sex tape/movies. Tis will store in their brain, and they would start craving for such, until they quench that urge!

I remember giving my phone to a friend’s 12 years old son to play game. And before we knew it, he had gone online to search for pornography! (I have never visited such site), and when he was interrogated, he said his aunt allows him to watch on such site.️๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ˜”

So imagine him knowing where to go, on the internet; this shows that there is trouble. We just need to start telling/educating our child/children at the early stage, like 5years when they can talk, and understand sex education. Let them know when to avoid anyone trying to touch them in their private places. Let us make them to understand penis and vagina and not call it private or another name. Becos they do, get dem wrong! And for the younger ones, they need to be monitored, and don't jus leave them with anyone, carelessly. Medically, the victim will be traumatised, bruised or injured during the ordeal. Most times, it makes them loose sleep, appetite, trust. Damages that could also be life threatening, causes Vesicovaginal fistula, or VVF, which is an abnormal fistulous tract extending between the bladder (vesica) and the vagina that allows the continuous involuntary discharge of urine into the vaginal vault, or could start loosing stool from her rectum due to the forceful event on the victim. It couldd also lacerate the mouth of the uterus, catch gonorrhoea, syphilis or even HIV and more. In d process of healing, many victims of rape, think about suicide or even end up doing it.

Let us also be aware thatat anyone could be a victim! That’s why we all have to be careful with those we move with, interact with, what we discuss, where we go, and events we attend! We shud also create more awesomeness within our love ones and environment.I also wish that the government could pass a death sentence as the judgement for whoever commits this act. Maybe whoever thinks of raping would know how to resist the devil when he comes. May God keep, and bless us all*๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

E PLUS The Storyteller: Wow! This is so insightful! Thank you for the perspectives. Now, do you think we are doing enough to curb this evil, as individuals or as a people?

Jimoh Oluwayomi Susan: Hmmm! It has to do with how individuals see, and take it ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝ‍♀️... But for the government,, nothing much, because even an elder somewhere, especially in the north is forcing himself on a child or teenager all in d name of marriage. And the government agreed to this act right from the onset- are dey going to change anything? So, let everyone see how they can help themselves in their own way๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝ‍♀️! L’obatan!

E PLUS The Storyteller: Hmmm..
Any word for those, who are already victims?

Jimoh Oluwayomi Susan: They should try to go for counseling, if possible change their environment, and try talking to trusted people around them, and also close ones based on their experience, in other not to fall victim like them. And ensure that they are good to go, medically.
