     DON'T BRUSH AWAY THOSE IDEAS..

Call it an influx of ideas, creativity and prowess, you would certainly be right! More than ever before, I see people who are more determined, and deliberate about telling and bringing their ideas to life through the powerful gift of Storytelling. Within the past few months, I have had to respond to countless requests and proposals on:

How best to write and tell a story!

Guess what? There's no better way to tell a story than to 'start telling it'.

Look at it this way, you want to cook Afang Soup or Banga Soup, or even Eforiro, the ingredients are available in the market so that won't be a problem. The next step is to make plans to go to the market and get the ingredients, after which you can begin to cook. From all indications, steps have to be taken to make that soup, a reality.

Likewise, everyone has the creative potential and prowess to be an established author/writer. How well you want that to happen or become a reality is determined by how well you take deliberate steps to actualise this goal.

STEP 1

DON'T BRUSH AWAY, THOSE IDEAS!

Ideas could come in trickles, bounds or volumes, whatever you do, take note.

STEP 2

DON'T BRUSH AWAY, THOSE IDEAS!

Keep those ideas, close to your chest, never lose sight, they come in handy all the time.

Your ideas can be developed, set the ball rolling by connecting with the right platform that can harness your creative potential and creative prowess.

   Every step takes off with a deliberate decision, and the more deliberate you are, the more everything begins to fall into perspective.

The Wailing Creatures  W ritten by Sumayyah Oluwafunbi Ogunsola     With a big smile on and shiny gleaming teeth plastered on my sweaty face, I step inside the dusty building with the big bold inscription: ‘ WELCOME TO THE ZOO!’  As I walk around with my black heels making a pit-pat, click-clack sound, my eager brown irises get locked in a trance with the brownish red Hawaiian bird.       That’s NOT my Father!       Sumayyah Oluwafunbi  Ogunsola              It’s a bleak, dark late evening accompanied by torrent of rain and the howling of the wind; the power is out. My father and I sit down in the parlour, looking at each other and sighing in disappointment, as our fun day out was ruined. I glance at our pet cat, Tata, to see that she is fast asleep.               Exasperated, my father launches himself on the sofa and says to me, “I am going to get Starbucks. Wait for me.” Worried, I respond “In the rain, and at this time, dad? You have heard how dangerous people lurk in the cloak of darkness...” He cuts me off.
