 IF THE PEOPLE STAND...Written by E PLUS The Storyteller.



The more I stare at this picture, the more it dawns on me, that indeed, pictures speak more volumes than a thousand words, and it's the precision for me! Yes! The precision! This picture is a metaphor of Oppression, Suppression and Subjection!


 It's a narative that connects with the reality that exist. The Dicotomy in the social and political structure is an interplay of what 'we' allow or disallow, either way there are consequences- Those who stand or sit on others have been given the license to, thus they seem justified to act likewise! Indeed, We are victims of our own choices, our compromises and our decisions, give or take the ball is usually in our court, how you play it will determine alot. There's a thin line between those who are free and those still in captivity- it's about the mindset.

What's your resolution? 


What the mind conceives, controls everything! Little wonder it is said that the mind is a battle field- Good, bad, ugly, beautiful, it all begins with the mind. The carrot might look quite enticing, however have you weighed the cost? Is it worth it?


 Remember, the quality of your decision has its ripple effects Pause and Ponder: As a people, As a nation, How long do we have to stay down? And Just like the rhetorics on this picture- WHEN THE PEOPLE STAND... THE GAME IS OVER!

The Wailing Creatures  W ritten by Sumayyah Oluwafunbi Ogunsola     With a big smile on and shiny gleaming teeth plastered on my sweaty face, I step inside the dusty building with the big bold inscription: ‘ WELCOME TO THE ZOO!’  As I walk around with my black heels making a pit-pat, click-clack sound, my eager brown irises get locked in a trance with the brownish red Hawaiian bird.       That’s NOT my Father!       Sumayyah Oluwafunbi  Ogunsola              It’s a bleak, dark late evening accompanied by torrent of rain and the howling of the wind; the power is out. My father and I sit down in the parlour, looking at each other and sighing in disappointment, as our fun day out was ruined. I glance at our pet cat, Tata, to see that she is fast asleep.               Exasperated, my father launches himself on the sofa and says to me, “I am going to get Starbucks. Wait for me.” Worried, I respond “In the rain, and at this time, dad? You have heard how dangerous people lurk in the cloak of darkness...” He cuts me off.
