 THE SHOELESS ONES (An adaptation of the story of a world football Champion- Pele).

Commentary by E PLUS The Storyteller ✍️

In the early hours of the day, at 6.00am, I was already up, and after I had said a word of prayer, a lot was on my mind- from all the creative contents and stories that were brewing in my head to the situation in the country, after a while, I decided to join my hubby in the sitting room.

 That was when I bumped into this phenomenal movie about a world football champion- Pele, I had to rename it: 'THE SHOELESS ONES' (A line in the movie) because for me, this is where the message of the story lies.

Imagine a group of young lads with so much strength of passion for the round leather game (Football) that never allowed anything to deter their focus, not even when they did not have shoes to play, during football competitions. They were mocked, and given the name: 'The Shoeless Ones' yet chose to convert this mockery into their motivation, particularly Pele who saw the light at the end of the tunnel. Thankfully, he also  had a good support system in his family.

What do you call a bad situation?

Who has mocked you?

You see, it's not about the mockery or jest, it's about what you do with it!

 You see, on the way to greatness you will be exposed to so many discouraging situations but remember these are all part of the package for greatness. Never lose you!

 Pele's 'Ginga' style was his uniqueness in soccer and he earned it! He never lost it for anything, and he went ahead to earn  more feathers to his cap.

  Moreso he came out gallant in one of the most vulnerable stages of his life, as implied in one of his quotes.

  "Our defects helped us to build.."

Pele is the only player to have won three World Cups - in 1958, 1962 and 1970.

Actually, there's no hopeless case.

Every situation tags along with its take home lessons and motivations..

Champions are made of gold, and usually, the rough and tough processes are the defining moments that make you come out pure, undaunted and solid! That process that earns you the spot to speak from a place of authority.

Keep moving! You are unstoppable!
