"Chai! What kind of dream is this?" Clara lamented as she turned to her left side, immediately she sat up on the bed. For quite sometime, she pondered over the dream she just had.
"Lawrence ke? Ask me out? Hmmm..I reject it ooo!" Clara exclaimed as she rolled her hand over her head in rejection.(The traditional way.)
"Person never chop better meat, na kanda, I won settle for? Hian!?! I reject this dream with all my life oo! Lawrence, you better not enter my dream again o!" She continued to lament. Clara, stole a glance at the wall clock in her room.
"Just five minutes to one..Ah! Time is still crippling..let me just try to return to my sleep." Clara said to herself.

Dupe stood in front of the standing mirror as she admired her figure. She smiled satisfactorily and drew closer.

BEAUTY IN THE MIDSTS OF ASHES
A Novel written by Ejiro Emenike Ukaumune.
Ughelli is a very beautiful city and its people, very hospitable. Most of the men and women worked very hard to make ends meet.
Each household embraces virtue and integrity, especially amongst the women. Little wonder, men trope in, from far and near to find for themselves suitable wives. Though, most of the older generations are less educated, the younger ones strive very hard to fend for themselves through school while few parents still contributes to see their children through.
Onome, was the only girl amongst seven children and they all lived with their parents.
just like any other child, She hoped to read to the highest level before settling down. Her brothers, on the other hand, cared less.
Onome, in her teens had already began to make way for her dreams. She would attend all her classes while her mates spent most of their time playing games behind the school fence. She made sure she finished her assignments.
Onome dreamt of studying architecture. Often she would visit the school library, sit with big text books and view the houses drawn on them.
Usually, she visualized herself designing similar structures and then she would just smile.
"Eh hen! I know she would be here. See! she has started smiling that her smile again"
One of her friends said as all four of them bumped into each other at the library.
Ochuko, Peres, Deborah and Adesuwa were Onome's friends. They actually thought Onome's ambition was farfetched.
"Look, Onome, dis your big big books you always carry, na wa oo!'Said Adesuwa.
"Anyway, the principal wants to see you" Ochuko said.
Onome sat up, a little nervous.
"Me?" She asked.
"Yes na! no be you be Onome?" Peres said as they all laughed...
"Why is she calling me?" Onome asked again.
"Maybe because you stole her meat" Ochuko replied..
Onome looked lost for a while.
"Which meat!?" She asked.
There was momentary silence then, the girls burst out in laughter.
Onome's countenance lit up.
"You girls ehn! Why are you like this? Stop all these your expensive jokes, jare!" Onome said.
" . . . Okay . . We were just joking but really the principal wants to see you and she did not give us any reason. She just asked us to call you" Adesuwa said.
"Okay, let me just drop this book" Onome said as she headed back to the shelf where she had picked the book from.
Her mind pondered over why the principal wanted to see her but one thing was sure, each time the principal wanted to see anyone, it was either for good or bad! She braced up herself and followed her friends down to the staff office.
Arriving at the staff premises, some teachers were already heading for their classes, Lunch break was over.
The girls entered the principal's office.
"Ma, she is here" The girls chorused.
The principal, who was by this time bent over her file, looked up and adjusted her eye glasses over her nose. She was fond of doing that particularly when in a very serious mood.
"Okay, you girls can leave. Let me have a word with Onome" She said.
"Okay ma" The girls choruses and left.
Onome stood in front of the principal as if she was in an army recruiting camp.
"Onome, how are you?" The principal said as she handed her an envelop . . .
Onome took the envelop and starred at it.
"Go ahead, open it" The principal instructed.
Onome, with both hands shaking, opened the envelop slowly.
She brought out a white sheet and waited for further instruction by the principal.
“Go ahead! go ahead!" She beckoned on her to open it.
Onome opened the sheet and began to read:
AN INVITATION BY GREAT COLLEGE!
We are pleased to offer one of your students, (Onome Oghenetega) to our quarterly Technical Drawing symposiums. We find it quite impressive that she was able to perform exceptionally well at the Technical Drawing mock examination.
We belief that her attendance at this program would enhance her technical prowess and prepare her further for future encounter.
We crave your indulgence to accept our invitation.
GREAT COLLEGE 🎓 .
Onome finished reading the letter and then, she stood still for a while with her head shyly bowed. The principal smiled.
"Onome, ain't you happy?" She asked.
"Really ma, I am surprised.
"I know but you should be proud and happy that you are already standing out. Great colleague is a very good school in the big city so you are already on your way for exposure." The principal said.
Onome knew that, coming from her principal, that was certain.
"Thank you ma" Onome said as she tried to put herself together.
"Tell your parents to see me tomorrow so that we can start making plans" The principal said.
"Okay ma" Onome said.
As she left the office and for her class, her mind sank. She wondered what her parents would think.
Her mum? Okay . . . maybe not much of a problem but her dad! Hmmmm . . . he had so much traditional beliefs barricading his mind. Onome just prayed quietly.
Onome in the company of her friends were on their way home and they all chatted.
"Ehn ehn, Onome na wa for you oo . . . you no come tell us wetin principal call you for"Ochuko teased.
"That's true ooo" Deborah added.
Feeling reluctant, Onome just smiled.
"Ah han! Onome! You've started again, just tell us nau, stop hiding things!" Adesuwa exclaimed.
After much teasing by her friends, Onome spilled the beans.
"Okay . . okay, it is just...

Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
This is the prayer of King David, the renowned Psalmist; the man after God's heart and it should be ours too for everyone that God has used to bless us in one way or the other.
This beautiful prayer is captured in the new single 'Shout for Joy', by Tayo Bamgbose (remix). Check it out, follow the link below:

NOTES FROM THE ADMIN
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
You dont learn how to write because writing is a reflection of what is in the inside rather you learn how to write better in a more comprehensive manner; that is creative writing.
CREATIVE WRITING SESSION
Diamond and Stones
Before writing these notes, i have been struggling with the phrase to start with. Should it be “This was a journey” or “This is a journey”. The word “was” makes it sound like the journey has come to an end, finito, concluded etc but that is not the true position. Using the word “is” makes it sound like the journey is ongoing, which indeed is the case. Ah!! That is the right phrase.
This is a journey that started one hundred and sixty-four weeks (164) ago when the initial idea of running a blog was conceived. The idea was born out of passion and putting spare time into effective use. We commenced actual blogging, with our first post exactly three (3) years ago. This was, no, is exactly fourteen (14) days after it was born.
However, during the journey, we overcame bumps here and there; navigated around obstacles, checkpoints and crossed bridges to where we are right now; without removing the feet from the accelerator. We can say with smiles on our faces that the journey has been interesting.
At this point we should pat ourselves at the back; raise our hands in worship to HIM that has been with us all through the journey. While in the mood of worship (except for him that has his feet on the accelerator), we mime to our very own song “Yes To Your Will” by e-plus (Ejiro Emenike Ukaumune: the story teller). If you are interested in the song, which i believe you should because the song, “Yes To Your Will” , is a deeply soulful track that reaches for the depth of human spirit in worship and submission. The worship single is available on the following online stores:
CD baby: http://cdbaby.com/cd/e41
Moreover, before we went into deep worship, we received encouraging text messages from those that just finished reading our book “Diamond and Stones”. The book “Diamond and Stones” is a fictional novel that gives account of series of events of a young woman named Tricia (the main character). These events culminates into feelings of mistrust, betrayal, anxiety, suspicion and vengeance. At the tail end, the suspense filled, mysterious novel is unravelled. To get your own copy on Okada book store, follow this link: http://okadabooks.com/book/about/diamond_and_stones/12998 We still have more where that came from; so expect more books from the story teller. Let me hint you on the next book coming out from the stable of The Story Teller; the novel title is “BEAUTY FOR ASHES”. Watch out!
Furthermore, now that schools has resumed our creative writing mentorship classes will zoom off in full gear. Our experience in this area has really shown that there are great potential in the younger generation. The future is really bright. I would have love to mention some of these talents but because of obvious reasons i would not be able to do that. For our sponsors so far on creative writing, we say thank you. For your books donations and gracing our mentorship classes with your presence. The likes of Mr. Okechukwu Ofili ( CEO of Okada Books), Mr. Ayokunle Stilo Oni (author of GAPS) and Mr. Emeyazia Iwediokpulu Chukwudi (Poet: author of THE JOURNEY TO SIGNIFICANCE).
Being in the class watching those children displaying raw gifted talent is so encouraging. We are convinced, that, more needs to be done.
We are also using this medium to say thank you to everyone who has featured in the past and currently during the third anniversary.
At this point, we need to overhaul our engine and carry out maintenance services. This will enable us to come out bigger, better and more appealing to our viewers. We are not yet where we want to be in the next couple of years. In the nearest future we will definitely get there.
In line with our bigger, better and more appealing projection, we have acquired our own domain name; www.ejiroemenikeuka.com. To be launched soon; sooner than you think.
Once again, i say thank you all.

THE STORY TELLER;S WORSHIP SONG
*No! She cannot be part of us! After all she did! What will the Deacons Board say? What will the elders say! In fact she should be suspended from the Choir! and let her be banned from Church activities!" The Pastor's wife lamented while she and her husband had dinner. The Pastor drank his water as he remained quiet. His wife was quite taken aback by his gesture. She stopped eating and stared at him long enough until she spoke again. "You're not saying anything!" She exclaimed. After few seconds, her husband turned to her and smiled. "Sweetheart, what has she done?" The Pastor asked. His wife stared at him with disbelief and contempt. "What has she done!? Are you asking what she has done!? Even the entire Church knows what this lady has done! How can you feign ignorance? Please o! As the Pastor of the Church you must act fast o! Let her not enter the Church from today onwards!" The Pastor's wife said firmly. "...but she was was raped! are we not suppose to minister to her now? She needs every word of encouragement at this point!..." The Pastor said. His wife remained silent for a while. "...but...don't you see the way she dresses? Even her hair style..she even has this proud look..she sings like she is better than other choristers in the Church..abegi! She asked for what happened to her jare!!" The Pastor's wife exclaimed. At that moment, he stopped eating and stood up. "All have sinned and come short of the Glory of God!" "Let he without sin be the first to cast the stone!" "It is God's will that we all come to 'Repentance!" "When last did you reach this lady since the was raped? Is it enough to sit here and judge? Since when did God make us judges over others?" The Pastor lamented. His wife remained quiet. Then suddenly there was a frantic knock at the Door. The Pastor headed to open the Door and a young man stood there, panting like he was almost out of breath. "Pastor! Pastor! Please come over, she just attempted suicide!" The young man lamented. Immediately, The. Pastor picked his car keys and headed out! Everyone had assembled for the Church Service and it was time for Choir ministration. The Pastor stood before the congregation and spoke. "We thank God for this day. We thank God for his Grace and Mercy. Weeks ago, she was accused, judged, condemned and abandoned and she wanted to take her own life! However, God has taken over...Our sister is here today and wants to sing to God for giving her another chance! Immediately she stepped forward and took over the Mic. As she stood before the congregation, everything changed. She felt the hand of God upon her and she just dropped on her knees and cried: "Yes to Your Will Lord! Lord I'm available for you!...*"

A story by E PLUS the storyteller..
Recipe: Yam
Plantain
Native black fish (or any fish of your choice.) You can include beef, goat meat or chicken.
You need the native peppersoup spice or simply buy the packaged one(already grounded.), Crayfish, grounded dried pepper, onion, little akawu and salt.(You can add maggi- I don't cook with Maggi.)
Cooking process.
Cook the beef, goat meat or chicken well enough.
Cut the yam and unripe plantain in moderation.
Wash and put them in a measurable amount of water, add adequate salt and allow to heat up for a minute, add the grinded peppersoup spice and the grinded dried pepper(you can also include the boiled beef/goat meat /chicken.), add the dried native fish. Close the pot and allow all the recipes to boil.
In few minutes, you will begin to percieve the irresistible native aroma from your kitchen.
At E PLUS kitchen, we love to save the best for last so when the UKODO is almost done, blend or beat the onion and crayfish together (this is why my UKODO taste very unique.) and add it to the boiling pot of UKODO!
At this point just drop a little amount of akawu(this is optional, you can leave the akawu out for those who can't tolerate akawu.) After two minutes, your delicious UKODO is ready to serve!
You can eat UKODO anyday, anytime.
UKODO is an ideal meal for nursing mothers. It also helps burn out excess deposits in the body.
