E PLUS The Storyteller: Welcome to this edition of MEET THE GUEST with E PLUS The Storyteller, so elated to have your presence.

The last time you were on this segment, we had such an insightful discourse, and I trust this promises to be even more insightful🙂

Habila Musa: Yes, I believe so. Thank you for having me, one more time.

E PLUS The Storyteller: It's always a pleasure. So, I guess it will be a good place to start by first, congratulating you on the added feather to your hat, which is the CBN's Nod your company, CHECKOFF-www.checkoff.loan

just secured. How do you really feel and what's the story?

Habila Musa: Thank you very much. It’s been an interesting journey, getting to this point. A lot was done to get to where we are with the CBN. Time, finances and structures have been put in place over the previous years, to ensure we got the approval. There were points we got frustrated, but we kept pushing, when we got the news from Abuja, we were super elated. There are so many things that cannot be accomplished without a CBN license. This necessitated our move and we are ready to build on our past achievements.

E PLUS The Storyteller: Awesome👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽Well deserved, I must say🙂

How would you describe 2021?

Habila Musa: 2021 was a very good year. We exceeded a good number of milestones, especially increasing our loan book size by five times what it was in 2020.

E PLUS The Storyteller: Wow! Impressive👏🏽👏🏽And what should we look forward to, this year?

Habila Musa: So, we have plans to deploy more technology within the business. We are deploying our new app this year, which will cater for some of the needs being asked for by our customers. Also, our Abuja office will commence this year. These and many more are in the pipeline this year, we expect it to be a very busy year as our eyes are keenly on our objectives.

E PLUS The Storyteller: Great👍🏽So, what's been those lessons that help shape your decisions? And what's work etiquette like for you?

Habila Musa: So for me, I just really want to make an impact. The world is filled with too many talkers and less people taking action. This is my mindset, I want to be part of the people that shape things. I’m a disciple of discipline and focus, set your goal, get your tools, minimize distractions, this is how I operate. I don’t believe in too much talking, your work will speak for you, if you do what’s expected.

E PLUS The Storyteller: Hmmm..Words on Marble!!!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽Hopefully, we get to see more people tow this line. Any financial advice or nuggets from you?🙂

Habila Musa: Thank you. On Financial advice, I would say there’s quite a lot of information out there. People should join Investment clubs and its likes, they teach a lot on financial education and investments. You can’t grow money, if you aren’t getting the right information.

E PLUS The Storyteller: As the C.E.O of a reputable financial institution such as CHECKOFF, how would you summarize the experience?

Habila Musa: It has required patience, trusting people, believing in your guts and overall an exciting one so far. The road hasn’t been smooth all the way, but then, it’s what makes the experience sweeter.
