CAN I FORGIVE?

Tami held on to the slab as she struggled to stand firm. Finally, she was able to sit down for a while.

She watched everyone pass by but, could hardly put her thoughts together. Tami's mind was beclouded by the recent happening in her home.

Her husband, Tokunbo had called few days ago, saying that he would return home late due to some work being done on his car thus, Tami thought to branch at the grocery store after work, to refill the store at home. After She had made the purchase, Tami stepped out of the building and saw a heavy traffic building up.

Quickly, she entered her car and began to drive and what seemed like a child's play turned out to be a serious locked down traffic after all!  One hour had gone by and Tami was still trapped in the unending traffic. Then, she picked up her phone and called her husband.

"Tokunbo, are they done with the work now?" She inquired.

"em..almost." Her husband responded.

"Okay, dear." Tami said and hung up the call. Thankfully, Tokunbo wasn't home, yet, she thought.

Then what looked like a stroke of chance happened, the road was clear again! Everyone drove like they had been in a marathon race.

Tami was quite relieved, then she had an idea, she decided to check on her husband since she was quite close to the office vicinity, besides she wanted to surprise him.

In few minutes, she was at the office and she quietly parked her car.

"Ah! Madam! Na Oga you come see?" Duke, the driver exclaimed.

"Yes, Duke. How body?" Tami asked as she smiled.

"Madam, body dey ooo but..you fit wait make I go call am so that you no go do wahala climb up." Duke suggested.

"No..no worry, I just won surprise my husband." Tami replied as she headed for the office. Tami also noticed Tokunbo's car was parked in the compound so she thought, maybe the mechanic had just returned it.

As she walked close to the office, she could hear chattering and giggling, then she thought, probably her husband had a guest.

Tami decided to knock gently; after several knocks on the door without any response, she pushed the door open.

Tami stood and gazed speechlessly at Tokunbo who had a lady seated on his laps! Immediately her husband realised her presence, he sprang up and ran towards her.

"Tami, I can explain!" He managed to say.

Tami jammed the door, ran back to her car and drove off.

Still seated on the slab, Tami reflected on the incident and she shuddered!

Tami wasn't sure if she was ready to forgive Tokunbo, her husband.

"He must pay ooo... Ah! he must pay." She said as she gazed on.

  1. Yep,you can forgive. Not even for his sake, but for your health and sanity. An unforgiving heart would lead to a lot of stress
